Vintage item. This is a 17-piece ceramic tea & sake set set that includes: tea pot with lid, five tea cups, five plates, a sake pitcher, and five sake cups.
The set features a blue, white, light brown, and dark brown design. The pieces seem to be covered in a matte glaze, with a more glossy glaze in the rich brown dipped areas. The undersides of the pieces are raw. These are clearly handmade, as each piece is unique and very lovely. Please look closely at the photos, as I tried to show many of the individual differences between pieces.
We've found many tea sets and many sake sets in our two abandoned houses, but this is the only complete set of both tea and sake in the same design.
I don't know for sure which decade they're from, but my guess is the 1950s or 1960s. The whole set is in really nice shape, considering the age. There is only a small imperfection on the edge of the tea pot lid, as shown in the photos. To be honest, this may not even be considered an imperfection, as it's not a sharp edge or chip, and I think it's part of the handmade charm. Otherwise, the set is pristine.

All items in this shop come directly from our two abandoned houses in Japan. These items were packed in boxes, and stored for a minimum of 40 years (the amount of time the house was abandoned), but many items were stored in the house for additional decades prior to being abandoned.
