"New" in box retro item. This is a set of five lovely small ceramic bowls. The matching bowl set features a crane design, which seems to be a popular illustration during the Showa-era. The background of the ceramic fades expertly from white to blue, with gold and delicate accent colors. It's a very lovely set.
The box is doing a great job to keep the bowls secure, but the outside condition of the box is worn, including some black marker, which can be seen in the photos.
I don't know for sure which decade the set is from, but based on the colors and style, my guess is the 1960s or 1970s. It's a somewhat common design element, and I have seen other dishes with a very similar pattern. But this whole set is in perfect condition, especially considering the age.
Box Dimensions: 26.5cm x 26.5cm x 6cm
