"New" in box vintage item. This is a hand-crafted ceramic vase, in a traditional bucket shape. The flower design is hand-painted. The gold is very shiny and reflects light and sparkles beautifully. The green leaves are a nice gloss. Other colors in the floral design are green, red, and blue. The back side of the vase has writing, which can be seen in the detail photos. It's a very striking piece of art.
The original wooden box is also hand-painted, which can be seen in the photos. A paper booklet is included, entitled "Artistic Pottery of Kutani", which outlines some history of Kutani Ware.
The ceramic piece and the box are in perfect condition, especially considering the age. I thought about keeping this one for myself, but I decided there's probably someone else out there who will love it even more than I do.

All items in this shop come directly from our two abandoned houses in Japan. These items were packed in boxes, and stored for a minimum of 40 years (the amount of time the house was abandoned), but many items were stored in the house for additional decades prior to being abandoned.
