Please enjoy our all-natural pure single-varietal honey from Ōmishima island in rural Japan, nestled on the Seto inland Sea.

« Sizes »
We have four sizes available:
140g, 280g, 560g, and 1000g.

« Harvests »
Cherry Blossom 'Sakura' Honey, harvested in early spring. This honey is rare and challenging to collect, as cherry trees bloom while the bees are still coming out of winter rest. The nectar from cherry blossoms has a subtle taste of sakura flower petals! We recommend enjoying it in a way that allows you to really enjoy the flavor of the honey.
Color: medium golden.
Viscosity: very thick!
Natural sugar content: 84-86%

Citrus Honey, harvested in mid to late spring. Ōmishima island has countless citrus varieties, which the bees combine to create a wonderful flavor. The nectar extracted from citrus blossoms creates a honey that is light in color and very sweet, with a subtle citrus taste. It's a great all-purpose honey.
Color: light golden.
Viscosity: a "classic" medium thickness.
Natural sugar content: 82-84%

Mixed-Flower Honey, harvested in early summer. Nectar collected in the late spring on Ōmishima island comes from a variety of wildflowers, including the flowering tree 'akamegashiwa'. A "classic" honey taste, with a complex herbal flavor. The texture makes it great for baking and sweetening beverages or food.
Color: light golden.
Viscosity: light liquidity, but not watery.
Natural sugar content: 81-83%

« Honey Source »
All of our honey comes from our very own honeybees on Ōmishima island, in Imabari, Ehime, Japan. We raise the honeybees, harvest, and process the honey ourselves.

« Available Supply »
Not all sizes and flavors will be available at all times. Since our harvests are each from a specific season of the year, there's limited supply available.

« Container »
Our honey is sold in glass jars with metal lids. The sticker on top specifies the volume of honey, with a "best by" date of one year after the harvest date.

« Note about shipping »
We're currently only shipping honey within Japan via Japan Post. I do my best to charge the lowest rate, based on the buyer's location. I package orders as quickly as possible (1-3 days) but please be aware that on some busy weeks, it may take a little longer (4-6 days). Once I get your box to JapanPost, then your tracking number will be generated, and shipping is very quick.

« For buyers outside of Japan »
I'm sorry, but we are not (yet) shipping honey products outside of Japan. Please feel free to send me a message if you'd like to be notified when we start shipping to the US, Canada, and Australia.

« Thank You »
All of our sales go directly towards maintaining and improving our small family business in rural Japan: Benton Homestead. We're revitalizing abandoned farm and forest land to grow our honeybee and vegetable farm. We also restored a former 'akiya' abandoned house into Benton Guesthouse, our retro Shōwa-era vacation home rental.

« Visit Us »
If you happen to be local, or plan to visit the Shimanami Kaido area in Japan, please feel free to get in touch! We would be happy to sell you some honey personally, host you at Benton Guesthouse, or schedule a farm tour. Hope to see you soon!
